What Animal Would You Love to Have as a Pet?

If you could have any animal as a pet, even one that wouldn't normally be a pet, what would you choose?

I'd probably choose a meerkat because I've always loved them. Although if we're allowed to pick mythical animals, a unicorn would be pretty hard to beat!

What would you choose?

I had a dog before and I would like to have a dog again but I don't want to incur any extra expenses because catering to dogs requires a huge amount of money.

There are so many animals that I could choose from that normally you would not expect to see as pets, but if you were ever able to keep them as pets, it would be something I would have as a pet.

I would love to have a tiger as a pet. I know some people do have this, and I think that is amazing, but I would imagine you have to go through a lot to even be able to keep a tiger, not to mention you would have to be super careful.

I have two dogs already that are my pets. Right from time i have always wanted dogs has pets. So I went for them when I was ready for financially and otherwise. Caring for a dog is very expensive that's truth.

I don't think I can use Tiger as pet. It's a wild animal, not a puppy that you could carry in your hands. Even if you have all the money and space, it's quite dangerous.

If I could, I would love to have a wolf as a pet—they are beautiful. But, setting aside the legal issues, one must keep in mind that they are still wild animals; no matter how much training you provide, you can never truly control how they might react. Still, if I could, that’s what I’d choose: a wolf.

I like it that On Oct 28, 2026, shadowbyte said:

I like the fact that you are considering the side thst this is a wild animal and as such caution should be applied. We sometimes want to experiment with our desires but we need to move with caution. Wolves ain't animals to be joked with no matter how much we want them.

Yes, and that is precisely what anyone who decides to adopt such an animal must do. One must never forget that it is a wild animal; if they were all domesticated, it would be the most normal thing in the world to keep a wolf—or, for instance, a tiger—in one’s home, wouldn’t it? But that is exactly why they are wild animals.

Wolf is a wild animal, no matter how you train it, those natural instincts will always be there. It's beautiful, yes, but it's very dangerous.

Yes, I know—that’s what I’ve been saying. Would you like to have a wild animal as a pet? If so, which one would you choose, and why? Naturally, keeping in mind everything you and I have discussed—that it is a wild animal and could easily turn against us at any moment.

But even at that they are less harmful wild animals like the elephant than wanting to keep a wolf . This is one very dangerous animal even it's looks alone is really creepy.
