Are you shocked at how fast this year has flown?

I was just sitting thinking not too long ago about this year, and I just can’t believe how fast 2026 has flown. We are so close to Christmas and the end of 2026; I wonder where the year went.

My year didn’t start too great when I lost my mum unexpectedly when she lost her fight to cancer, but even though there is a huge hole in our family now due to the loss of my dad in July 2025 and my mum in January 2026, I have done my best to live my life and do the things I enjoy this year, but it has gone so fast!

Are you shocked at how fast 2026 has flown by? Are you happy with how your 2026 has gone so far? What do you hope to achieve in the last few months?

Yes and no; I didn’t feel like the year went by all that fast. To me, the year passed quite normally—neither slow nor fast, just normal.

Sorry about your mum. Losing your parents is a very heavy thing. 2026 is very fast truly and between work, fuel issues and some other problems we are facing the year just seem to have disappears so fast.

Honestly, it feels like just yesterday we were shouting Happy New Year, and in less than three months, we will be entering another new year? It feels like this year is faster than last year.

@Shortie - I feel really sorry to hear about that. Kindly accept my condolences. The year 2026 has flown too fast. A few months ago, I was stuck in traffic as so many people were celebrating this year. However, now it seems like time is flying too fast and I do not even know if I would be able to reach my goals by next year. Time is flying too fast and we really cannot fo anything about it.

To be honest , you made a good point. As we grow, it feels like time is flying and it's because of the stress, the hustle and daily problems we face.

It’s not necessarily about stress; it’s a matter of age. As you get older, you value time more than you did when you were young. I remember being a teenager—it felt like a year or two would just drag on forever. Now, a year or two flies by, and I don’t want them to. As an adult, the fact that the years pass so quickly is more painful than it was when I was young—mostly because you realize that every year counts. Each passing year brings you—unfortunately—that much closer to death, and we don’t live forever.

Yes, just yesterday I was discussing with my course mates how the year is almost coming to an end and our 1 year course would soon be over . It sometimes marvels how times flies. You just wished people happy new year and before you know it that year is over. It's seems 2026 was my most fastest year because where did the time go
